Contractors

The contractors listed on the following pages employ members of Local #562 pursuant to the terms and conditions of a Collective Bargaining Agreement or "CBA".  These agreements provide the contractor with a means to adequately bid projects based upon set wage and benefit rates, and the working conditions contained within the CBA.  The relationship between Local #562 and the contractors that employ its members is one that, not only benefits the contractor and member, but the construction consumer as well.

Local #562 advocates this relationship between contractor, consumer and its members.  Contractors and Local 562 leaders have learned that everyone benefits when all members are committed to work for the industry's good and for the good of their mutual customer - the construction consumer.  This symbiotic relationship is often analogized in the example of the three-legged stool - if one leg represents the contractor; the second, the union members; and the third, the customer or construction consumer.  We realize the importance of every leg in overall functionality of the stool.

Contractors and the leaders of Local 562 meet monthly to discuss new ideas and to develop effective solutions to our customers' needs.  Our leaders develop training programs and support tools to improve understanding, trust and cooperation among all industry members.  This training creates a framework of integrity, around which industry members can unite their resources, imagination, and vision to meet the changing needs of building owners.  Ongoing joint initiatives of labor and management address industry leadership, journeyman certification, apprenticeship training, industry marketing, safety and services issues.
