Holcim, Inc.
Holcim Inc. is building $600 million cement plant in Ste. Genevieve County. Local 562 is assisting with the construction of the plant, located on a 4,000-acre site adjacent to the Mississippi River.
This construction project will bring resources to the St. Louis area by employing 200 permanent workers and providing over 1,000 construction jobs.
Swiss-based Holcim is one of the world's largest suppliers of cement, gravel, sand and concrete. Holcim U.S. already employs 200 workers in Missouri (most at its 35-year-old cement plant in Clarksville in Pike County). In addition, the company has terminals in St. Louis and Kansas City, and has hundreds of other customers in the state.
