Continuing education is a requirement for every plumber and pipefitter journeyman and foreman. More advanced coursework covers a variety of topics, many of which are governed by federal laws. Some of these include:
- Valve reconditioning
- Backflow prevention and testing
- Building automation system diagnostics and controls modification for HVAC, process and piping
- Fiber optic and direct digital control systems
- Refrigerant reclamation
- Medical gas system installation and high-purity maintenance

In addition, a first-of-its-kind foreman training program has made a significant contribution to cultivating an understanding, and trust, among plumbers, pipefitters and the mechanical contractors they work for. Graduates of this select program are making a positive impact on job-site management for the benefit of owners.
